This is not so much of a reintroduction as a rebirth so to speak. I joined Cigar Box Nation many, many years ago when I initially developed an interest in more "primitive" instruments, CBGs, mountain…Continue

hi , I'm from melbourne Australia , Bought an old tele knock off neck for $20 from a local music store, really wanted a square gibson style oh well next time , I have it all measured out , will run a standard 6 string just cause i’m slack !! Not 100% sorted on the bridge yet see how we go making one from scratch odds and ends , old man is assisting in the box building probably 13” long x 9.5” wide x 4” thick if it goes okay ill build one from scratch .

Hi, I found CGB Nation sort of by accident. I played brass instruments, guitar and piano from the age of 8 through high school. After a 20 year lapse in playing, my wife bought me a guitar for my birthday last year. I was searching for a TAB the other day and happend upon a YouTube link for a guy who made a speaker and amp in a tobacco tin. I couldn't believe the sound from the CBG and started looking for more info. I have no excuse for not knowing about this before this week.

Anyway, I stopped at a local cigar shop and picked up about 6 boxes I liked for under $10 and this will be a project for my 5 year old daughter and I. We can't wait to get started. We look forward to learning more and playing the covers off what we make. Thanks in advance for sharing the knowledge.

Hi all, I'm James Paolello, 35, from Erie, Pennsylvania. Originally from Ridgway, PA, I took off for Summit School of Guitar Building and Repair on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada in 2004, and upon completion of my courses, relocated to Erie. Been playing guitar for almost 20 years now, and have been working part time out of my basement shop building and repairing guitars for the past 5. I also have a pretty fun day job; voicing reed pipes for church organs and the like. It's been a good transfer of my skills with guitar work, and just as challenging none the less. Built my first CBG guitar this past August, and man, am I hooked! Should've made one these a long time ago! Aside from guitars, and CBG's, I also enjoy building dulcimers adn have made some other folk instruments. Oh, and I'm a rabid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Go black and gold!

Hi folks my name is Renee, from Marietta Georgia. I bought a canjo this past weekend while I was in Gatlinburg Tennessee what a cool little instrument. I will be making another one and maybe even a diddly bo and probably a cigar box of some sort not sure about the last one it depends on how well I do with the canjo.

I live in belgium, small country in europ I am a retired teacher in visual arts
got my first guitar wen I was 11 years old, an metallic green egmond now I am 60 and own a bunch of guitars, all big brand's, as a bad guitarist you need expensive famous brand guitars to compensate Ha Ha Ha
a special in my collection that I like must of all is a dulcijo (google on Internet to find it)
and now I want to start cigar box guitar, I ordered 2, a 2 string from shane speal and a 3 string from knotlenny
my amps are all tube amps, and for the cigar box I did buy a roland micro cube
who's my main amp now
I am married and has 4 children and live in the country side, in the weekend I go shooting, most of the time black powder with a lepage dueling pistol
still more questions, mail me
