Introduction
My name is Mark, I would describe myself as an amateur multi-instrumentalist, recordist and stringed instrument collector. I currently own various guitars, acoustic and electric, mandolins, a banjo, mountain dulcimer, and a nice uke.
I discovered CBG's and "the nation" recently while researching vintage blues instruments and have the bug real bad!
I will have many questions, and hope to have some interesting things to offer as well, as I have pretty big plans..........

Okay, I'm originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin..., and that's not funny.
Live west of there now in the boonies. I've never played an instrument before but I'm already able to get tolerable sounds out of my CBG.I stumbled upon CBG's after meeting LaurieLee on youtube. She plays some very cool cigar boxes in the most unique style. Check her out if you haven't already. Anyway, that was the beginning of my cigarboxatitis n' I'm hooked deep. I've been a woodworker most of my life so I have no excuse for not building my first CBG other than I wanted one and I wanted it NOW. So I bought one on e-bay for 30 bucks. I love it ! I'm now building 2 of my own and I'm sure there'll be more to come. I'm really impressed with the generousity of folks here and totally amazed with the talent found here amongst the various artists. I feel very at home already. This is a great site ! Thank you Shane for starting and running this wonderful place. Oh, one more thing...I talk a lot, expect long comments.

hi , I'm from melbourne Australia ,

Bought an old tele knock off neck for $20 from a local music store,

really wanted a square gibson style oh well next time ,
I have it all measured out , will run a standard 6 string just cause i’m slack !!

Not 100% sorted on the bridge yet see how we go making one from scratch odds and ends , old man is assisting in the box building probably 13” long x 9.5” wide x 4” thick

if it goes okay ill build one from scratch .

Hi, I found CGB Nation sort of by accident. I played brass instruments, guitar and piano from the age of 8 through high school. After a 20 year lapse in playing, my wife bought me a guitar for my birthday last year. I was searching for a TAB the other day and happend upon a YouTube link for a guy who made a speaker and amp in a tobacco tin. I couldn't believe the sound from the CBG and started looking for more info. I have no excuse for not knowing about this before this week.

Anyway, I stopped at a local cigar shop and picked up about 6 boxes I liked for under $10 and this will be a project for my 5 year old daughter and I. We can't wait to get started. We look forward to learning more and playing the covers off what we make. Thanks in advance for sharing the knowledge.
