Heya, I live in Arizona. I got interested in CBGs after I saw the makezine article a couple weeks ago, at the time I had a fender acoustic that needed repairs, but I ended up takin the tuning keys for my first two CBGs. The first is actually still in progress, playable but I still need to put the piezo in it and build the amp for it. It's pretty rough of course, made it with a Punch boz I picked up at a local smoke shop. The neck is oak and I actually fretted it with the rails of a couple lengths of model train track, they work great and the weathered copper look suits it. The second box I made is again an oak neck but I used a java box and it's much nicer lookin then the first lol. With luck they'll keep lookin better as I go. I actually have no real guitar experience but Shane's videos made it fun, if not sound good.

G'day Folks!
I live in Eumundi, Queensland, Australia....But I'm born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Been living in Oz for 20 years, and I gotta tell you, sometimes I miss the good ole USA! At least I did, until I first heard this fellow playin the hell out of a CBG at my local pub's Thursday nite Jam Session. That fellow was Paul Thorley, and to this day I feel a little HOME when I hear a CBG. I'm a harp player(OH NO!!) since was about 6 years old, so I've always been around musicians. Paul and I did a couple of gigs together a few years ago, even played in a band, "Rooster Soup". My son asked for a CBG for his 16th B/day, and Paul built him a beautiful 5 string with a baking pan for the body and a timber top. (And just so you know...he rips!!)That started him off and he plays lots of instruments now. Paul also helped me build a one string Bass Diddley Bow, and it's a real WEAPON. I play it with a drumstick and a slide, but I'm still learning.
Just last week, I ordered a one string Stonehenge Pick Up from Ted Crocker over at Handmade Music Club .ning, and I've been pestering the postman everyday since. I've got a couple of ideas for the body, and am real excited to get started.
By the way, cigarboxguitarsaustralia.ning is fast becoming the site for us "Aussies" to show off, so drop in for a look.
Glad to be here!!

Hello all, my name is Chris and I am living in between Atlanta and Athens Georgia in a small corner called Winder. I have one build since I found this site two weeks ago, and plans boxes and necks for plenty more. Would have shared sooner but my approval seemed to take a minute, will post pics later. Thanks to everyone here for all that I have learned so far, some fine work going on around these parts.

Johnny from N.C. Iowa making my first post here at the C.B.N. and I'm interested in vibrating strings, metal, wood and speakers. Working on my first guitar projects, 60's Kay archtop- neck and bridge replacement, and a SBC-nice wood Silverware Box Guitar to be fitted with Kraftsman neck and piezo. Next is 3-stringer. All to be run through an old modded Dukane tube amp with DIY piezo buffer. Ding Ding Ding it's on.

Howdy, I am from N.W. Missouri. Just discovered this place at the first of the year. I have really enjoyed learning about CBG's. My first is in progress but it will be slow for a lack of power tools. Anyway I have always loved the blues. First time I heard this music there were no instruments being played. I was listening to this colored lady on my paper route singing on her front porch. Hells bell I thought she was praying. She didn't mind when I would sit and listened to her sing. Anyway I been searching for that sound my whole life. And some of the folks here come real close to it with these CBG's. I am hooked.
