yes best thing with the chunk of lace Wood it to send it down here to sheffield , it's horrible stuff you would not like to work it !! hehe!!

sorry cant help mate i've never worked with it before , best thing to use on iregular grained wood is a low angle plane , thats about the only advice i can offer Sorry !

scored some spalterd Sycamore the other day , just thicknessed it up about a hour since , will post some pics in short while , also thicknessed some Rock maple & Ceader what a superb smell Cedar gives off , it's my fav wood Smell of all time , may see if i could produce some Cedar aftershave , drives the girls wild (i wish ) lol!!

We've all done it.... found a stunning piece of timber, spent hours deciding what to do with it, then screwed it up by using the wrong tools or not working 'with' the wood. So this the place to ask your questions, show off your wood turning (or even just your wood stash!), maybe buy, sell or swap some raw material?
Id dearly like some help on what to do with my lump of lacewood.... the grain seems to run in more than one plain.... anyone got any advice on how to achieve the best from the grain?
