Piezo tube style in the bridge
Thinking about and looking at bridge styles, noting that cable clamp, bolt ,threaded rod, and skeleton key constructs are popular. Since I already have that stuff on the bench it is natural to go that way. But in thinking of what I have accumulated over the years shows various lengths and diameters of automotive tubing, mostly steel and copper but some brass and aluminum also. So if the tube replaced the bolt/ key etc. it would create a space in the bridge for a rod style pick up to be suspended. Would this be cool and give a great sound or would the string voices be muddied and blended within the tube, thereby nullifying the rods greater ability to recognize individual string vibrations?
Oh the things we muse over on cold and cloudy Sunday afternoons.

i think you will find most rod piezos need to rely on string pressure to work with any desired result. "suspended" i would think would deeply (if not totally) mute it.
but . give it a whirl .. if it don't work . try a half pipe approach and squash the thing under the halfpipe . that should work .

I have been thinking about trying this as well because of this guy...
It's funny how people come up with things... some on their own, and others by "creative appropriation" (stealing). I'd be interested in what you come up with (curious myself how well it'll work for a CBG since I have not had the chance to try myself). I imagine, from the sound of this guy's Uke, it should work out great. Best of luck!
