Hey folks, I'm an Air Force staff sergeant deployed to the Horn of Africa. I just received my first CBG from Jay at Tinyguitars, and not only do I love the thing, but some of the guys in my shop do too. I've told them about this group, but can I put out a request for two CBGs to be sent over here? I'll pay for 'em - I just want to help these guys pass the time. Thanks for what y'all do!

I'm getting busy with the build. I've done the base to the folkart top... is there a slogan you would like to see along with the flag on the top? The next time you see this will be in a completed build log, after it is in the post to you. If will also have a wound pup donated by another CBN member, Don Goguen.
Anyway, get back to me if you are particular about wording with the graphic, otherwise good ole' Wichita Sam will do his best.

the best,
Wichita Sam

Permalink Reply by Wichita Sam on April 3, 2011 at 10:58pm Well Austin,
Wichita Sam # 269 is done... I came up with a slogan "Salute the Troops", because I think it's clear that there is a strong vein of support for our servicemen here on the CigarBoxNation. I have the donation of a pup from Don Groguen that was a prototype from the "thin" pickup discussion. BTW, it rocks!!!... I set WS # 269 up with medium action so that it can be played fingerstyle or with slide. I also had some parts from Big Daddy of Back Porch Mojo.
Anyway, here's a slide show of the build. I'm hanging onto it for a day or two. I like it so much that I'm going to use it to record my contribution to the Blind Willlie Johnson cover album.
Thanks for allowing me the honor of serving those who serve America. With my fellow CBN brothers and sisters, we "Salute the Troops."
the best,
Wichita Sam

Well Sam, it's your guitar so I'd say it's your call. I asked one of 'em and he said he'd be happy with anything, and will likely begin a tradition of passing it on here at camp. That said, any kind of US military pride art would probably go over very well.

Permalink Reply by Dan Sleep on April 10, 2011 at 11:34am Austin, I was looking through and filing my receipts and saw that I had shipped the GOF to you on 3/26. I am guessing it should be arriving any day now. Here's hoping it arrives intact and in one piece. Let me know when you get it.
