i was introduced to this site by SSgt May whom i met out here in Africa.  was jammin with him and his roomate... and he pulled out a cigarbox, definatley one of the most bitchin' little things iv ever seen, never played one before that, but now im so stoked on it and want to pursue it further.. his cigar box is set up like a dulcimer, so it makes it a little more dificult to get that blues sound that im lookin for, if you guys could set me up with possibly getting my own, now matter know how simple, i cant even tell you how much i would appreciate it. the more instruments we have out here the more we can keep the music alive... when i was in afghanistan i carried a guitar with me on every convoy, and every FOB i went to then passed it on the next guy when i left to go home, id like to maybe do something like that here, thanks man! peace

Hof    got ur pm meassage but for some reason i can t send a message ,, ssoo  i gonna try this and hope it gets to ya

The Olivia box ..

I used a red oak for neck and fretboard .. is fretted   to a 24" scale ..  I put 2 piezo under the lid ,,under the bridge ,,, and embeed em is silicone ,, seems to really help em to vibrate ,, this is extremely LOUD!!!!  when plugged up Also has really good volume when played unplugged ..Left the neck a little robust ,,, wanted to b able to string it with heavier gauge strings if i wanted ,,  which u can do when u renew the strings ,,, Is all different  and u would b really surpeised as to how different they sound ,, I have this strung  with the top 3  ,, 4 5 6   and tuned to G be.. Know u a player ,, but i gonna send u a cheat sheet   and u'll b able to immediatelt reconize how to transpose ..   has a more Treble sound ..

The cohina box :

Is a little larger box ,,, so it has a more bassier sound ,, again fretted to 24 " scle and used 4,5 6  string tuned Gbe

Did this one a little different ,,,  again is used the 2 piezo p-u ,, but embedded em into the bridge on top ..embeddd em in silicone and they are in parallel ...   a really LOUD !! sound amped up

Used poplar for the neck ,, scarfed the head stock onto it ,,I thinned the neck out a little more on this one ,, again fret action is low ,but high enough for a slide .. I like a low fret action ,, hate it when the strings try to cut ends of my fingert !!!When u get ready to restring this un ,, would suggest getting small washer for the ends of strings  so they don t pulll thru the hinge holes ...

Looks like u a player and like the bluesy sound ,,, either of these do the job ... Id like to ask u to send me a photo of u n the git ,, I post these on my wall ..

I was U S Navy  , Vietneam Era Vet  ,, so know about the "hurry up n wait "" boredom factor ..

I will b absolutely delighted to ship u either one ,, tried to explain a little on each so u can make a choice ,, Tell me which un u want and u mailing address and i get er shipped monday   ,, done deal ????????????

Photos are definitely coming of the group, once we can all be in the same place at the same time. I'm a photojournalist for the USAF, so rest assured we've got the equipment, LOL. Hoff and I had a helluva jam session tonight, and it's awesome how many people stop by and are just in awe of the CBG.
Austin ,, has he seen my above descriptions ??      My damn meassaging system on here has gone to crap ,, can recieve ,, can t send   ,,and hoping he got these comments

Hof, we can't get Richard's messaging to work, so please post in this thread if let him know which one you want.

Thanks

Eric, just double checking, did you and Richard hook up? Did he get your choice of guitars?
