My name is David and I am a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy at the new Walter Reed in Bethesda, Maryland. I work in the wards helping out with the Wounded Warriors and other patients on my floor. I was told to check out this site from a fellow Corpsman, who is a reservist at is into playing cigarbox guitars. I think this is really great what you guys do here for our service members. I was wondering how I can become an owner of one of these really cool cigarbox guitars. Thank you.
Hi David, welcome to the Nation and thank you for your service.
I am in the DC metro area, and could fix you up with an instrument if you like. Would you like fretted or fretless? Right handed or left handed?
Thanks so much, I would like that so much. I am right handed. I have some guitar playing experince but I haven't played a cirgar box guitar. I am unsure if I should use a fretless one or not? Thanks again.
This one sounds good, and is fretted, but can also be played with a slide if you like:
Yes, that sounds and looks really great. Thank you.
OK, it is yours for the taking. Let me know what your schedule looks like. We can probably meet up and I can hand deliver it to you. It makes no sense to pay for the shipping.
(Is that a record for time from request to fulfillment? Sure seems like it! Go, Dan!)
Timing is everything!
I have one built and ready to go. I am about 10 minutes from the Huntington station on the Yellow line.
I will be around in the morning tomorrow, probably until about noon or so.
Awesome, would you be up for meeting up at the Huntington metro in the morning if thats ok with you, what would be a good time?
Any time after 9 would be fine. I will pm you my phone number, just give me a call when you are on your way.
Thanks I got the pm, I will call in the morning
