Thanks so much for the kind words.  I hope your therapy goes well. My brother-in-law had second and third degree burns on his hands from an oil fire.  He was told he probably wouldn't regain full use....it took awhile...maybe close to 2 years...but he actually regained full use of his fingers.  Recovery was most successful with the diligent painful physical therapy, and of course the answer to many prayers. I have found many small blessings in recent days...one being this site.  Pretty cool to be cruising along surfing the net, reading about CBG's and to find this little chapel site when I did.  I had been on this site several times before, but I didn't see the chapel site...until I really needed it. :)  It put a big smile on my face...one of those little unexpected blessings. Thanks to all who post and maintain this page. :)

Dee Ann,
Thanks for the good wishes. I'm building more than playing due to continued debilitation in my hands. But, I'm hopeful that therapy will help.

Sorry to hear about your losses and concerns. If I would offer a thought that the past year has taught me is this..."Focus on what you can... not on what you can't." Usually every day brings small blessings if you are looking for them.

Finally, may the God of all comfort be with you, lifting you up until sorrow turns to joy in His perfect time.....

Thanks for the kind words and prayers. Much appreciated.  Thanks Danny, I am really enjoying the learning process of building and playing a cbg. There is so much information!! This should keep me busy for awhile.  :)

Times of loss are an especially good time to try something new that will enrich you personally. You also undoubtable get a much needed chuckle from one of these folks almost every time you check in. Many people have begin learning instruments playing and building at these times. I hope you find much satisfaction in your new hobby.

Welcome, Dee Ann.  Sounds like you are going through a pretty tough patch.  I just said a quick prayer for you.  And welcome to the CBG world. 

At page top, under 'Resources' there are good lessons on playing and building.   On the building end, I strongly suggest keeping it simple as you can - no frets.   For playing, and you mentioned blues, the lesson that helped me most was 'knotlenny's CBG 101.

Hello.  I'm new to this group and new to cbg's.  Recently my boss/friend died, I lost my job, and my dad passed away.  My son is getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan.  I'm thinking....Dang! I think I need to learn to play some Blues...My friend showed me her cbg and I fell in love with it.  I decided I needed to build one.  My dad loved woodworking and I thought a project like this would make me feel better.  I'm hooked! Actually, I'm obsessed. LOL.  Finding CBG's Chapel is quite a nice surprise and blessing.  It is nice to read what others have posted here.  I hope Wichita Sam is doing well and playing his music.

Happy New Years to everyone.  Got an idea.  Instead of a "resolution" why not just wake up every morning this year and ask God to make you a better person who makes better choices?
