Wired magazine article on Radio Shack with pic of ABS Bass
The May '10 has an interesting article on the evolution of Radio Shack and the loss of its electronics DIY tradition. What really caught my eye, though, was the accompanying photo of Steve Muscarell and his homemade ABS bass. Very cool, but I can't find any info on it online.

There were plans on the internet for a PVC electric upright bass built by beat catcher. I cannot seem to find them now.

I'm digging that stand up pvc bass, I wonder if I need that hair and side burns to get good sounds from it? Looks simple enough. What is a good scale length fro a 2 string bass, I've got a bunch of pvc out in the garage.
