To all interested people who live in Michigan or anywhere else for that matter. Our plans for the 29th meeting are currently being worked on.  We will continue to exchange any new info & ideas, as well as hearing some of our guys play. The small jam session during our last meeting was lots of fun. We are continuing to gather at Red Sky Stage in Petoskey, MI, from 1 to 5pm on the 2nd Saturday of each month. I'd like to hear from all of you............My name is Preston J. Laisure so contact me here or e-mail me at: prestonjlaisure@yahoo.com  and yes, you can become a member of the Cigar Box Nation too.    We decided on 3 basic goals:  Learning,    Playing   and     Building    but not in any particular order. Our core group grew a little with every meeting. We think that growth will slowly increase. You can be next. I'm lookin' forward to meetin' ya!  One last thing, We now have a face book page, please check out: CBG Minded Michigan'ders and several video's including our first meeting, as well as our jam sessions.        PS:  This a cost free event & open to everyone. Every CBG Minded Michigan'ders Meeting is different, unscripted and special. Everyone is welcome.    Bring a friend.  Stop on by and meet the gang. See you there.

OOPS!!! Hold the buss!! This Monthly meeting will be held at the Antique Flywheelers Show Grounds on US 131 south of Walloon, MI from 1 to 5pm on July 14. This is a one time deal. You can find us at the "Welcome Center" on the south side of the grounds near the schoolhouse. Thanks.

Depending on my work schedule, I'd come up there. It's a bit of a drive for me. I'm in the Detroit Metro area. About 4hrs away. Might be able to get the wife and kids to take a weekend trip though.

I'm down here, just south of Lansing.  I'd definitely be interested.  It's about a 3.5 hour drive, but with a bit of advance notice, I should be able to make the trip with no problem.

I'd love to meet up with some people who can actually play.  I've built a slider and an electric fretted so far, but don't really know how to play them.  Could use some pointers.

P.S.  I just noticed this post.

i will be there. hopefully can bring a few peeps with me.

Will be there with most of my guitars to show' and plan to bring as many local blues players as I can. Maybe you can get C.B. Gitty (Ben) to send you some freebies like cigar box nation stickers and the like.

I plan on attending. I'll bring at least one of my builds to hopefully hear how it sounds in the hands of somebody that can actually play.

Looks like I might be bringing my wife and daughter along!  Should be a fun family weekend.

I got at least one person coming that i had gave a  homemade 6 string Bo -diddley  style guitar to.  He`s the x-country coach for Pellston.

Building box guitars, making friends and jamming to good music what's not to like.

MEETING #2      Hail, Hail, The gang's all Here. Red Sky Stage - November 7th from 1 to 5pm. We'll have Lou (Uncle Lou) Kilpatrick playing his three string Rock & Roll, Preston doing simple melody's on a 4 string, plus building tips and the "Builder / Player of the Month is: Swamp Witch Guitars. Come be part of our future.  See ya there!

Sent a gift  package full off goodies  yesterday  ;-)

Received "Package" and mum's the word. You'll just have to come to see.

good stuff man  .  congrats on the first  year  ;-)
