Any of you folks on here ever come across red guitar hardware?  Like six string guitar bridges of any kind with red enamel finish?  I'm eternally grateful if you can clue me in.

try powder coating....threres people who do it in mosy big cities and its almost a durable as chrome!....lots of red and styles or looks to chose from...I have powder coated guitar parts and seen them several years latter and they look like new, thats how I do my black or brushed steel parts, I swear buy it, looks champ.

Josh, it probably doesnt fit in with the stuff you usually build, but I might have some red Corian, maybe for a nut or something. I will look later today.

Powder coat is nice. Local coater here charges too much, he insists on bead blasting and double baking everything for perfect cleaning before coating, then he wants me to pay for the 1 pound of powder he has to order (he always says hes out of stock, even common colors) and charges 4 times what others do for the procedure. I could buy the equipment to do it myself for what he charges for a modest batch run!

Oh, if anyones interested in DIY powdercoating, the supplies and a lot of information is available at Eastwood.com

I have some red chickenhead knobs, but they don't look as cool as Bob's old black ones. Your welcome to them if you could use 'em.

Eric

You guys are awesome.  The tuners and knobs look cool.  I'll look into powder coating a bridge. And as far as the red corian goes, if you have some then yes please.

I almost forget!!! I use to use a maker and they have red ones, you can read about me and the pins on there site here

look for the banner thing that says "new' in red.... I can't belive it sliped my mind!..i just havent been building so I dont buy things anymore...check them out, there cool cuz there long and they have a slimmer taper so they dont pop out when you tighten the strings like standard ones http://www.jellifish.com/hotrods/index.html

Oh, yeah.  I came across those earlier.  This is going to be a six string guitar.  What I want to do is get a blood red hard tail bridge plate and load it with black saddles.  I'm putting inquiries out to shops who powder coat right now.
powder coat is awesome and you cant go wrong...its tough as steelI and will look better than an OCC choper!  I pay 5 to 7 dollars per piece at a 10 piece minimum....I woundnt advise trying it at home in your house oven, leave it to the pros, its cheap and they can do it slick like chrome.
That sounds like exactly what I want.  Thanks for the advice, man.

There is a guy who has clored sets of bass stuff on ebay.

I have looked but not seen the stuff on ebay, so I'll look on my fav bass forum to see if I can find a link.
