Well...the hubcap is thick metal and the front of the guitar is a thin stove top.
Clamps would bend the thin metal. The edges of the hub are angled so clamps would occupy almost over the center of the hub. one very dense metal and one super thin metal seems like a drilling challenge....I think the thinner metal or tin would give out pretty quick.
rope or wire seems to get in the way of strings. I'm thinking clear silicone around the edges but I'm open to any suggestions to join these two parts. Kinda frustrating as this would be the last major hurdle.

Wayfinder, i'll check into that aluminum tape. Sounds real good. I've seen some around but it looked very thin..almost tin foil like. There's got to be a stronger version....like duct tape strength.
I've seen that thin copper or brass...comes in thin strips...how would you afix it though to join the two pieces? Bend it?

drill a hole  in the center  of the  hub  and  get a  long  screw  to   reach  and screw into  the neck  inside  . this will   pull    them  together    to  hold in place  .

Think your saying draw the hubcap closerto the neck by screw thereby closing the gap ... NOT penetrating the front stove top? If so I'm thinking maybe keep away from the Dodge logo and drill to either side of it and use 2 screws/holes
Both great replies

yup  .   and   2  on the side  works too ,  ;-)

you  could also  hot  glue a chunk of wood  inside  the  hubcap   with a   threaded collar  in  it  .. and  have a    bolt    stemming  from  the  neck  ..  then  you  could     just  spin it  on .  even  open   or  close  it a    bit as  desired  ..  like  a  wooden    banjo  reso  .  while  keeping the     outer  hub  clean  lookin. .

.

Excellent!!!
I'll let you know how it goes. Great ideas.thank you!!
Blind nuts are easy to find. Good call.

You could jb-weld a blind nut to the hubcap, the only drawback would be the need to have somewhat precise screw lengths.
Yes. I'm already not going ahead as this is not easy to measure without it actually screwing on. Not sure...
Kinda eyeballing it for now...

we  have  faith  jon .   you  can  do  it  ;-)

Ditched the hub too thick for my drill...at least for now. Going with a bowl...
The hubs are intimidating mainly for finding a way to get the neck groove cut out...I'll keep studying what u guys have written...in the meantime I need a long screw with a large flat top or washer to hold down the bowl..into a glued piece on the back of the neck
