Hi guy's, this bass came in for repair this week. The CBG along side it is to give some idea of scale.

The scale length to where the bridge should approximately be, a  third way up from the bottom of the rim is 1.5mtr. The scale length as played is 1.25mtr or around 48inches. That's a lot of compensation to get it to play in tune.

Interesting build tho. Timber rim was formed around a 44 gallon oil drum, the tension hoop is a bicycle rim, the tension rods are bicycle spokes, the fine tuners in the back are 1/2" bolts and strings are washing line and fishing line. it stands 6' 8" high.
