One solution is that most guitar stores sell individual strings. If you really get into bulk building, <a href="http://www.juststrings.com" target="_blank">www.juststrings.com</a> is a great resource for strings at reasonable prices. They will make any custom set as long as you purchase10 packs. Enjoy.

I've done just what Diane suggested, but without a pickup. Just use what you got and tune it till it sounds good. I like the unwound strings better than the wound for my unplugged cbg, is that common?

Assuming you used the three smallest strings, build another instrument with a larger box and a pickup and use them in that one!<br />
