Hi everyone,
Tommorow is the first anniversary of the death of one of the greatest blues guitarists to have walked the planet , I'm of course talking about Gary Moore he was a true legend and had many diverse styles but was best know for his time with thin lizzy in the 70s and on his album as close as you get he plays a CBG on the song sundown,
The man is a legend having played with bb king Albert Collins Steve ray to name but a few,
His highest charting song was Parisienne walkways with the legend PHIL lynott on vocals, as my tribute I would like to welcome you all to view my video that I did on my page as a tribute to him and listen to track 1 on my album (also on my page ) The Loner which was also a Gary Moore song,
Many thanks for listening and GOD BLESS YOU GARY RIP

Hi Steve,

I have followed his playing since i was a kid in the 70s i was and still am in awe of his playing and shunning the celebrity stage he was a great ambassador for local people and often turned up for charity stuff local to were he lived near brighton .

Never a bad word about anyone just an emensly talented musician who loved his craft,

I had the privilage of meeting him after 30 years , little did i know some 3 months later he would pass away,

god bless you gary rip

It's been a year already, huh?! Time flies.

I'm a huge Gary Moore fan, and I always will be.

Hi George,
Thanks for your post,
Yes time does fly I still can't believe what a loss he is,
In July 2010 he recorded his last concert at the Montreax jazz festival and in that concert he played three new tracks which were going to be on a new album very Celtic blues driven rock,
Check it out on you tube Days of heroes,oh wild one and were are you now , the latter is a slow one but those bends he did WOW , days of heroes is a great belter some great fret mastery as you would expect,
The penultimate track PARISIENNE WALKWAYS was his last performance live before he died but all the more powerful and in HD too,
The god is gone but his music is still there,
