Purty lookin

Beautiful, and I know you've put serious time, research, and experimentation into these. To see his entire ad, click on the picture in Wayfinder's post, folks.

Thanks for the reminder Jim!  I'll put that instruction in the post . Totally forgot, I did. :D

And yup, I'm up to around pickup #165...

That's a lotta winding.  Not nearly as much as Dan and Elmar, I'm sure.  But I do my winding by hand, using a sewing machine.   lol   Maybe not the most efficient way, but it works and I have precise control.  Amazing how sensitive human touch is to variances.

Yup, lotta lotta winding pickups.

If your Flat Cat humbucker pickup sounds as good as it looks, you've got a real winner here. Nice job, 'Finder!

Regarding your ads, I'd suggest including one or more of the many glowing reviews your customers have left you on your Etsy site.

That's a good idea.   A good review quote always enhances an ad.

Regarding the sound, despite the tendency toward bias-- I'm putting these on all of my personal guitars (even my full-size electrics).  I love the sound.  When I put a FlatCat on the neck and a Houn'Pup on the bridge, it strikes my ears as the perfect pickup combo.  I've compared FlatCats with about every pickup I could get my hands on and nothing else sounds as rich or versatile.  Something I really like is that the trebles don't sound tinny, the bass sounds deep and rich, and the trebles aren't lost in the bass like a lot of pickups.  Unlike pole pickups, the entire cross surface of a FlatCat is "live" and the entire thing sits right under the strings.   I think that's what gives it the extra rich tone.

Very cool! I want to put one of those in my next build.

Hi Buddy, I want one of these for my new four stringer, which model do you recommend? Also how do they mount onto the box?
Great to see your ideas fuelling so much interest and discussion here, I knew you were full of potential from the start.
All the best from Bill. :D

Hey Bufo!   Great to hear from you again!

If you're building a standard 4-string CBG you'll want the CBG or Strat versions, either one (the Strat has a larger footprint).

The FlatCat mounts directly to the surface of your git.  Drill a hole through the top for the wire and use the enclosed double-sided foam tape or 4 dabs of silicone glue to mount it.  Couldn't be easier.  : )

If you're making a personal guitar and want it to really rock, pair up a FlatCat and a Houn'Pup (use the Houn'Pup on the bridge).   I'll give you a $5 refund on the two and will build them specifically for a dual-pickup git.

That's a deal! Can you pm me your payment details or do I go through etsy?

Through Etsy is fine.  Simplifies records on my end. :D

Hey,..quick question regarding these..if the entire surface is live,..can I use a regular size one and mount it long ways under the strings of a cbg? :)

Pretty.
