Diddley Bow Workshop

Yesterday I held a one-string making activity at the local community college. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun. I kept the design super simple, and had about 15 students make diddley bows. It was part of the school's spring activities week. It was free to students, and kept me crazy busy for 3 straight hours. I used Oliva Series G 7x50 Churchill boxes, pine necks and inexpensive geared tuners. You can see the design sitting next to the 1922 Maine guitar.

Thanks. I'm working on the body armor as we speak. Our church has an excellent young children's coordinator who plays flute & sings alto. Optimism is high.

By the way, I've had considerable success putting a 1/16" hole through 1/4" eyebolts so strings can be easily attached.
