I haven't built my own yet but just came across a baritone uke case that fits my Tenor CBG perfectly! Doesn't rattle around at all.
There are some pictures on the formum somewhere. I've seen them.
i'm a cardboard addict from way back . . . . Some people comment more on my box than on the guitar. It's all corrugated cardboard and hot glue and a bit of duct tape for the closure.

I've made quite a few, thin ply or masonite (hardbord for the UK) for top and bottom, softwood for the sides. Pin and glue it up into a closed box then rip it into two pieces for top and bottom. Hardware from the local store, 'funfur' lining..and there you go.

this is the only case i have made , maybe it's a bit OTT for most of you guys ?- it's not what would be classed a simple took forever to make but i was pleased with the end results as was the customer who comissioned it - made from 6mm or marine ply for the top and bott , sides are 18mm marine ply then it was all veneered with Zebra wood - the bottom padding is 100mm Polystryrene coverd in Red crushed velvet - top linling is 50mm medeim density upholstry Foam again coverd in crushed velvet - it also has a large Cigar Box Embedded in the base for a stash box for leads ,tuner, strap ect
juju.

thanks for the pics.
Go to GC as them for a cardboard guitar shipping box. They usually flatten them and throw them away. Add duct tape or some paint and your set!
These are simple as ,plywood, felt leather look vynal, broom handle ,hope they help.
here they are ,.....sorry i cant find the photos, but they are on "my page" photos, there are a few examples of cases there.

Some simple cases I made for the 'Twins'.

8mm ply with some nylon fur inside with some foam under that.

Holds guitars without any movement and the fittings (hinges, handle etc.) didn't cost a lot.

Hope this helps.

Hogs.

I had forgotten about this thread. Hogs- that looks good! I was deciding on how to do a neck rest. I think thin wood that I can cut with a xacto knife might work. That might be easier to handle?? How did you carve that divot?  Gary that is a cool amp case you have there. Does it ever rattle itself over from blasting it! Just kidding.

I found an old chemical shipping box in my parents basement that is the perfect size for my bar. uke size git. I do not have a good digital camera anymore so no photos.
