Permalink Reply by Michael A Grubaugh on January 20, 2011 at 4:29pm this is the only case i have made , maybe it's a bit OTT for most of you guys ?- it's not what would be classed a simple took forever to make but i was pleased with the end results as was the customer who comissioned it - made from 6mm or marine ply for the top and bott , sides are 18mm marine ply then it was all veneered with Zebra wood - the bottom padding is 100mm Polystryrene coverd in Red crushed velvet - top linling is 50mm medeim density upholstry Foam again coverd in crushed velvet - it also has a large Cigar Box Embedded in the base for a stash box for leads ,tuner, strap ect

8mm ply with some nylon fur inside with some foam under that.
Holds guitars without any movement and the fittings (hinges,handle etc.) didn't cost a lot.

I think thin wood that I can cut with a xacto knife might work. That might be easier to handle?? How did you carve that divot? Gary that is a cool amp case you have there. Does it ever rattle itself over from blasting it! Just kidding.
I found an old chemical shipping box in my parents basement that is the perfect size for my bar. uke size git. I do not have a good digital camera anymore so no photos.
