Wes Carl gave me some good advice the other day when I was whining about my arthritis. He said to not forget the big picture. I thought about it for a minute and understood. Was good advice that came at a good time. Hang in there Man and get well soon. Keep your eyes on the big picture! I'm going to give it a Like for the great attitude you have!

Hang in there. I been dealing with health issues lately myself and dealing with this damned diabetes for damned near 25 years. My toes seem like they are not long for this world sometimes, and I had to have my heart re-plumbed about 8 years ago. My uncle (aged 86) used to say growing old ain't for sissies, and I am now a true believer.
I am sorry to hear about your situation. I don't know if you have seen my video addressing this type of complication. Please don't hesitate to write, if I can be of any further assistance. Take care and Keep your Faith, Keni Lee

Not to make light of the situation (for which I'm very sorry this has come to you, and I truly admire your spirit), but couldn't they at least have let you keep the middle finger? >:-E
OK, so you'll have to learn how to "flick" your right index finger as a pick, and finger the guitar neck with your left hand (new left-handed Mudcats!); or, alternatively, you now won't have to guess which finger to put the slide on.
Oily (expecting the middle finger)
Permalink Reply by Dan Sleep on December 12, 2011 at 8:07am Mark, sorry to hear that, but I know you will persevere and triumph, just like those wounded warriors you have donated instruments to.
Keep the faith and hollar if you need anything.

Permalink Reply by Stubby on December 12, 2011 at 2:07pm I really admire your spirit! Keep that up and you'll be playing and building like before.
Mudcat,
Here's the deal; in 1986 I lost most of my left foot in an industrial acciden., At that time, the doctor (my surgeon) told me that I would never walk the same or do the same things that I was accustomed to doing (I am a very active indivdual). After 4 reconstructive surgeries and a lot of re-hab, I still had much the same life style that I had prior. I am concidered 80% impaired on my left leg by my insurance company. Since then, I hiked the Grand Canyon 4 times, south to north, continued water skiing, even barefoot competitions, earned my Black Belt in Kempo Martial Arts, raced my Pro Gas Dragbike (until 4 years ago) and continued to do everything that I always did, outside of playing tennis... I'm happy with that. With your state of mind, this will not keep you from doing, whatever is important to you, believe me, I am talking to you with the experience of the defeat that I was dealt!
The way I look at it, an injured animal does not retreat from the pain, he only fights harder to stay alive and win the encounter. You will be fine, my prayers are with you during this struggle of yours.
