Building a through neck and fitting it.

Hi, This neck is really part of my Frankenstein "Frank" cbg build, but I'm just posting the neck part of the build here now. I built this cbg for a number of reasons, the main one being to get on the same page as many other builders out there, so when I read their claims, comments and suggestions I have a better idea of where they are coming from.

For instance: I did not know what a real cbg sounded like in the flesh until I recently built this one and one other [after 4 years] using an actual cigar box. I never use a through neck, I never use soft wood for necks, what does a customwood/ MDF top sound like? How do piezo pickups sound in the places members say they place them. I've built all those features [and a few others] into this CBG, and hope I come out suitably enlightened.

But now the neck. you may have to enlarge some pics to see all text.

Hi Taff, looks like a real pro set up you’ve got there, love seeing the step by step pics. I’ve often thought about a pine neck with a hardwood fret board cause I play in DAD at a 24” scale and there’s plenty of twang age lol....not a single neck out of the 20 or so guitars I’ve built have warped even slightly so I think I’ll give it a go - is your pine neck gonna be 3 or more strings? I agree. Hadn't thought of that.

It occurs to me, though, that if I removed some of my "waist" material, my top might have better movement also. ;)
