If you could only have one, which would it be?
I'm more concerned with cutting my own neck stock to size than the actual CBG build but the notching of my necks, headstocks and such would be a nice change from the hand saw/chizzle method I use now.
Just been shopping around and was curious what other more expearienced folks might think.
Any thoughts or guidance would be appreciated.

On the reverse of that, a table saw will cut through thick material easier.

Permalink Reply by MichaelS Country Boy Guitars on March 19, 2012 at 3:25pm Band saw, I make my necks with the bandsaw mainly. I use a table saw to cut down large boards before milling them to size, but once they are a nice square stick its all band saw. You can also rip and re-saw with a bandsaw, lots of things can be done on it, it will open a whole new world of creativity. Wow now if I were only a bandsaw salesman. Try to find one with a fence, you may not think you need it but they sure come in handy if you have one (I don't but a board and 2 clamps works also)

Permalink Reply by Dan Sleep on March 19, 2012 at 4:05pm For what it's worth, I have been shopping for a new saw, and saws larger than 9 inches seem a little hard to find. I was not able to find a 12 inch saw for less than $400 USD.
