I have a buddy who does precious metal exchange, and each month he trashes about 20 beautiful wooden chests. Many of them have feet, and are dove tailed boxes--beautifully made.

Obviously too heavy for a guitar, but does anyone have an idea of have to recycle some 240 wooden cases a year?

Thanx!

love the idea, great box!. and of course there must be pictures or it didnt happen..lol

That's right. LOL

The Top and sides are a good quality wood, the bottom is some type of fiberboard. Since the top with a frame portion of the box is 1" in total thickness, I'll be able to run a neck all the way through and be able to open the box without issue. The top board is 1/8" thick, so it will be a great sound board.

There are many scratches and it appears to have paper veneer, so it'll most likely get painted.

Sure do , brush handled bases , I can get custom made hardware ( kneck hinges etc) made , tuner on the end , pickup and your all the way , I can design one pretty easily , post a pic ,
Or what about amps ? , plenty room to fit a speaker ,,some e bay electronics , easy amp ?
