"Squash Bug Blues" played on the "Hoe Down"
You gotta be kidding me, one of the better sounding cobbled together with misc parts instruments I've heard, nice job!!
I drew my brother-in-law's name in our family gift exchange this year and bought him a set of Old Timer pocket knives because he has pockets and, well, he's actually an old-timer. Now the knives cam in a tin so of course I had to put a neck on it. lol
The box was really too thin to make a guitar but luckily I had seen the the video Shane posted with Louie La Manna's resonator box idea (thanks guys) and this is what I ended up with:
And a little sound sample just to prove that it sounds like a piece of tin with strings on it...
Old No. 7 Brand “Double-Jack” Tenor/Bass Gitty
Got a bottle of “Jack” last Christmas… I immediately got an idea for a new build, but as you can see I had to do a lot of “research” while doing the design phase!
All of the parts, with the exception of the “Cherub GT6 G-Tone”, were purchased from CB Gitty Crafter Supply.
The Jack Daniel’s tin boxes are lined with poplar. The through body necks are maple. Tenor fret-board is CB Gitty Peruvian walnut. Bass fretless finger-board is red oak. .The finish is a combination of Ebony coloured (colored) Aniline dye and high gloss lacquer. The fret markers were cut from 1/4” aluminum round rod. Bass fretless frets were applied using a silver-metallic Sharpie marker pen. The x-connector bars were cut from 1” square aluminum tubing.
I made the wiring harness using a uke rod piezo for the tenor and a 3-pole rod piezo for the bass wired in parallel. The wiring harness is connected to the Cherub GT6 G-Tone “gizmo” with a 3mm mono plug.
I strongly believe my next build will be based on beer “research”.
Gotta go. Gotta date with the kegerator in my man cave.
Rock on!

this is just beautiful... very nice job...
Im no Wesseh but I'll humbly enter this tin can.First tin CBG experience ever. First hand wound single coil humbucker attempt ever. Really happy with the humbucker. Sounds great. God bless America.https://youtu.be/XJW9pbeYF5I
My Second entry is One Tooth Joe ,build for my youngest son Jack, His older brother Jasper gave him the tin a few Christmas back now , 24" scale Tasmaian oak through neck , coustom eagle machine head ,1/4" bolt & thread for nut & bridge , 27mm piezo ,250k pot ,1/4 jack with Santa coustom volume knob jack found in the decoration box to finish off the thyme . Merry Christmas from my family to all your families .
This is Mable, a 2-string chugger. I found this gem of a neck mixed in with some canes at the local antique store. I thought it was odd that it wasn't with the other yardsticks and also odd that it was only $7 while the others yardsticks in the store were $30-$40. It's square and tapers from 3/4"x3/4" at one end to 1/2"x1/2" at the other. Some internet research shows that it was in the right place with the canes, it's actually a promotional walking stick. Anyway, an idea was formed so I searched for a can and something to use for a tailpiece. Must have done 20 laps around the store but I found 'em. So... walking stick $7, maple syrup can $6, shoehorn $2, other hardware about $8 for a total of $23. The way my playing it makes my wife look at me like I just farted in church... priceless.
